Rebuilding flatslides on a plastic picnic table that we made into our apartment’s dinner table that we never sat at. I don’t have the table, or the apartment, or the woman that bitched at me for doing this in the shithole.

Just reminds me of the caller and comments about grinding or port matching heads. My first car was a $500 field car which was a 1966 GT fast back K-Code car in Ivy green (possibly Hertz GT-350 cast away before they went black, because I’m a nerd and read up on it). I was working on it, the “car guru in 7th grade” took my air grinder and went toward the heads on the bench saying, “open those ports up” and I couldn’t get more nuts. Banned, out…no. This is numbers matching! I wonder if he’s still on this planet.

Rotary have issues with the “ring” that is always sealing for the always firing engine. That needs put out there. The Wankle is awesome until you have to do the early rebuild.
